![]() ![]() I commissioned him to create ambigrams for the word “illuminati”, as well as the Illuminati diamond - the fusion of the elements, earth, air, fire and water, which represents the fusion of science and religion historically, and features in Angels & Demons. John also created the ambigrams used in Angels & Demons. John and his name were part of the inspiration for the protagonist of Angels & Demons (Robert Langdon) who also appears in The Da Vinci Code and in my next, as yet unpublished, book. Later, when I published a novel of the same name, Simon & Schuster used the same ambigram on the hardcover edition. John did the artwork, and the CD was released in 1999 with John’s ambigram on the cover. I was so impressed by the artwork of John Langdon that I commissioned him to create an album cover for my new CD of music (called Angels & Demons ), which dealt with many of the religious themes that already interested me. John’s art changed the way I think about symmetry, symbols, and art – he looks at from different perspectives. He is most famous for his ability to create “ambigrams” – words that read the same both right side up and up side down (see, for example, his book Wordplay. To create the ambigram content, you need to put the text which can be a word or phrase in the dedicated online space. John is an artist and philosopher, a close friend of my father and, I think, one of our true geniuses. As the name implies, Ambigram Studio 3.0 is truly creative and produces marvelous pieces of ambigram content. ![]() In the early 1990’s, I first saw the art work of John Langdon. Their are many good albums in Dylans cannon but these for me are the real jewels in his musical crownĮTA: I included The Basement Tapes and, I think, Christmas in the Heart which most others are excluding. 1-3 is along with RAHP the cream of the seriesġ3.WGW was a fine return to his folk roots.ġ4.Tell Tale Signs Bootleg Series Vol 8 is concrete proof that Dylan remains one of most essential & prolific artist of the the last century. T is Dylan at his haunting brooding cynical best.ġ1.TOOM was Dylan coming full circle in yet another reinvention of himself.ġ2.Bootleg Series Vols. No one should be w/out MOW & a few others from this landmark album.Ĩ.Love And Theft is Dylan at the top of his game and having a blast in the process of doing so.ĩ.MTV Unplugged is a later day rejuvenated Dylan tearing up the stage in pure rocknroll spirit.ġ0.Tempest IMO is Dylans best post BOTT effort. ![]() The 2nd time of many to come that Dylan would reinvent himself with amazing results.Ħ.RAHP-1966 is quite simply one of top 3 greatest live events ever released.ħ.TFBD the protest eras grandest statement. Like the Stones in 69 Dylan closed the door on the 60s with BOTTĥ.JWH with all its biblical undertones was the sound of Dylan going back in time and discovering rocknroll just before Elvis. My favorite of all solo acoustic Dylan LPs.Ģ.Trilogy 1965- 1966 it is impossible for me to separate these masterpieces.ģ.The Basement Tapes because it is Bob hanging out with his pals and having a great time.Ĥ.BOTT was the return to greatness & a poignant loss of love & a loving document of the 60s. That and Dylans vocals is perfect for the setting. I will just list IMO what is essential and those are the records I own.ġ.Bob Dylan s/t because I have always liked the hard acoustic style juiced by Dylans young ambitious on fire playing. Most of the performances on the album have been previously available only on the extremely limited edition 50th Anniversary / Copyright Extension albums (. The last Bootleg Series has somewhat elevated my appreciation for the Gospel period, albeit I've always ranked STC highly. Of course, some of these can switch places from day to day but in general I feel the bulk of my list will be fairly static. My own personal favourite to least favourite (discounting live albums and compilations / Bootleg Series etc).
